Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 amβ11 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Village Inn Pizzeria Sports Bar and Grill at (847) 675-3737; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, villageinnpizzeria.com.

We visited this sports bar in Skokie because my daughterβs end-of-the-year ice skating program party was held at the Oakton Community Center. Several other parents had recommended it, and it was also advertised online as the closest venue to the event and a great place to watch the World Cup final. However, Skokie has always prided itself on inclusivity and everybody is welcome but this place clearly doesnβt share that same value. The service was appalling from the beginning. We waited an entire hour for a waitress to arrive, and when she finally did, she was dismissive and unhelpful. The bartender was equally dismissive and unhelpful. The most infuriating moment occurred when a member of the party went outside to the patio with his young child to get fresh air and they started watch the game through the window. The manager rudely closed the window right in their faces with without any explanation. It was incredibly heartless and rudeβnot something you would do to any human being. This place clearly doesnβt care about fans, families, or basic human decency. Save your money and go somewhere else that truly values its customers.

Every town needs a place like this - a dive sports bar where anyone can hang out and watch games. Food doesnβt have to be spectacular. In fact, greasy pizza and salad with fewer than handful of items would be par for the course. As long as their beers on tap are cold, they are serving their purpose.

I had the fried Cod which was very good, pizza is totally fine, nothing to get excited about, place has questionable hygiene, and I've heard from staff they get your drinking water from the same faucet they wash their hands in and do general housekeeping in. Atmosphere? Cluttered sports ephemera with no real specificity, and again, dusty. The fish was a good value, but some may find their prices to be high.

This is definitely a place where nearby folks frequent. If we lived closer we'd be those people. The food as excellent and Steve did an awesome job attending to our large party.

Stopped by for the first time yesterday (March 15th, 2026), after playing 4-hours of pickleball at nearby Pickledilly. I was STARVING and just wanted to chill at the bar and grab some food and drink, and watch the NCAA March Madness selections. The bartender on duty was AWESOME!!! They were pretty busy, but she was clearly working hard and making sure everyone had what they needed and did so with a huge smile. She clearly loves her job, and it showed. I ordered the chicken parm dinner, served with spaghetti and garlic bread. It was EXCELLENT!!! Good portions and super tasty. Loved the fresh garlic bread too. I would definitely come back.
